A group of parents and their babies are smiling at a Parent University session.

The Parent University Antenatal Course is for pregnant women, birthing people and partners (3 sessions). We focus on Antenatal Wellbeing, Labour, Birth, Feeding and Caring for your baby. We work in partnership with local midwives who support the sessions.

The Parent University Postnatal Course is for parents with a baby under 6 months old (7 sessions). We focus on Postnatal Well-being, The Birth and Bonding, Child Brain & Language Development, Sleep & Routines, Childhood Ailments, Play, Home Safety and much more! We work in partnership with health visitors who attend some of the sessions.

Parent University is based in Southwark but residents of neighbouring boroughs may also join.

As Parent University is a course, ideally parents will attend each weekly session. We discuss and learn about a different subject each week and celebrate parents graduating at the last session! We have some written handouts you can read and take home with you but you don't need to complete any written work. A lot of learning is done through talking and sharing experiences.

Connect with other parents, find out useful information, learn how to care for your baby and help them grow, develop and thrive. Also talk about how to look after yourself as a parent and improve your wellbeing.

Babies can play, interact with each other. You can feed, change and comfort your baby whenever you need to and we have toys and mats for babies and a singing time at the end of each session.

Sessions are delivered by Parent Action staff, in partnership with local health professionals.

You will find a warm welcome, friendly atmosphere, lots of information and opportunities to discuss and ask questions.
